Please join in our 5th annual Recycle and Repurpose Collection at the NECPA Conference and Expo, January 22-24, 2015. Bring your scrap and used fabric, small or large, to this grass roots collection drive and help create a “greener” North East.
The NECPA would like to congratulate and proudly announce that one of our own board members, Katie Bradford of Custom Marine Canvas will be serving as the 2015 Chairperson of the Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI).
Beginning this month, the NECPA will offer a monthly email update focused on education, information and industry news. This email, The Velarium Vibe, is available to all NECPA members, expo attendees/exhibitors and visitors to the our website. If you are an NECPA member, you will automatically receive your issue each month. If you are not a member, you can subscribe here.
We have once again collected large amounts of used and salvaged fabric from our many Greener NECPA Members, and we are putting it back into use in a number of creative ways.In addition, we have an extensive collection of processed and bagged pure recycle material ready for the Recycle My Sunbrella® program. As you may or may not know, Awning Cleaning Industries used to pay to have these fabrics shipped to South Carolina, where the next step in recycling would occur.

Having a grandfather who started his awning company in the 1920s and growing up with my parents’ awning shop in our home, I can honestly say that I was born and raised in the awning business. A multi-generation family business, C. E. King & Sons, Inc. was founded in 1948, and we moved to our current East Hampton location on Long Island in 1986.
Did you know that Awning Cleaning Industries, Pease Awning & Custom Products, and Atlantic Awning Company produced the "first ever" recycled / re-purposed fabric show bags for the IFAI 100th Anniversary Show in Boston?
