NECPA 2017 Features Technology, Financials & Alternative Energy

It’s hard to believe we are coming to the end of another year and with it, another NECPA Annual Expo & Meeting is almost upon us. NECPA 2017 will, once again, be filled with many opportunities for networking, education and skill building as we bring together the largest gathering of outdoor fabric, canvas, shade, awning and marine professionals in the North East.

Be Part of a Global Effort: The Recycle and Repurpose Collection

Scott Massey, NECPA Board Member and owner/president of Awning Cleaning Industries (ACI) and APCO Products of New Haven, CT, is at the forefront of an effort to recycle and repurpose the thousands of pounds of post-production fabric scraps and worn out awnings and marine fabrics our industry produces every day. Through his efforts, the Recycle and Repurpose Collection ensures that materials, that in the past, would simply languish in a landfill, are now being put to use in a multitude of ways.

And That’s a Wrap - the NECPA 2016 Annual Meeting & Expo is a Success on Many Fronts

Despite some rough weather hitting some of our members in southern New England and the  mid-Atlantic area, the NECPA 2016 Annual Meeting and Expo was still an outstanding regional event. Members from around the region and suppliers from across the globe came to experience the exciting educational sessions, hands-on demos and amazing networking opportunities.

Multiple Industry Events Kickoff the Start of a Strong Year for the Awning and Marine Canvas Industries

January and February have been chock-full of events for the canvas industry and I’m finding myself on a whirlwind tour to connect with as many canvas professionals as I can in the next several weeks. We kicked off the year with the  Marine Fabricators Conference in January, where we got insight into the latest innovations and business strategies for the marine canvas industry. The NECPA Annual Meeting and Expo followed shortly after and was filled with exciting sessions, hands-on demos and the first ever LiveStream of the event!

Help Us Jump Start Our 6th Annual Recycle and Repurpose Collection

Please bring your scrap and used fabric, small or large, and be a part of our 6th annual Recycle and Repurpose Collection at the NECPA Conference and Expo, January 21-23, 2016. NECPA Annual Meeting and Expo Addresses Vital Topics for Today’s Awning and Marine Industries

As a longtime member and current Vice President, I’ve always appreciated the NECPA Annual Meeting and Expo as a wonderful opportunity to learn about the latest advances in our industry. This year is no exception. Together with MFA and PAMA, our board members have put together a fantastic educational experience for each day of this year’s event. Whether you are a business leader in the awning or marine industry, or if you an installer, stitcher or designer, this event has something to help you grow and expand your knowledge.

My Top Five Tips for a Successful Annual Meeting & Expo

For over 20 years, the NECPA Annual Meeting & Expo has been the ONLY show in the North East dedicated to the canvas and outdoor fabrics industry. Each year, qualified buyers and industry leaders from the awning and marine industries choose to kick off their business year at our event. As a member for more than a decade, I’m proud to serve on the Board of Directors of this wonderful organization and have attended many events myself. As you prepare to attend this year’s event, I wanted to provide you with some of my own personal tips for getting the most out of the weekend.

Salt Water Area Installations Require Extra Care

Installing awnings and screen systems in areas where salt laden air is present requires extra care on the part of the owner. Salt air is extremely corrosive on all objects including "Non-Ferrous" metals like stainless steel and aluminum.
