EXPO 2020- 100 YEARS STRONG - sCHEDULE OF EVENTS

We are very excited to be celebrating 100 years as an organization and have another great conference and expo planned.


Thursday Night Seminar:

  •  6:00pm – 7:00 pm Understanding Generations 
Learn “old school” and “new school” methods of communicating with customers from different generations with insight from family business teams.
  • 7:00 pm – 7:30 pm Dinner: Pizza Break

  • 7:30 pm -8:30 pm Panel Discussion regarding the above topic and others

Multi-generational teams share their methods of communication. I.e. email, Instagram, phone, snail mail.  Ted and Don Franklin, Jamie and Robert Mills, Jim Robert and Deanna Benner, William and Andy Morse


Friday Marine Track Seminars:

  •  9:00 am – 9:45 am Patterning Comparison Session #1 Manually Patterning a Bimini Top.

o Katie Bradford, MFC, Custom Marine Canvas

o We will explore the current manual techniques used in patterning a bimini on a sample frame.

  •  10:00 am -10:45 am Patterning Comparison Session #2 Digitally Patterning a Bimini Top

o Jamie Mills, MFC, William J. Mills and Company

o Using the same bimini top in the previous session, we will explore the technology used in creating a pattern digitally, and taking that same pattern to the next level.

  • 11:00 am – 11:45 am New Technology in Shops Session #3 

o Discussion of the Pros and Cons of implementing digital technology in shops. Exploring the costs involved and the learning curve. Camera Digitizing, Digital cutters, sewing machine advancements are some of the topics to be discussed.

    • Saturday Expo 9AM to 2PM

    Expo day will feature over 50 of our industry's leading manufacturers and distributors exhibiting their latest and greatest products and services, plus live demonstrations under the tent. In addition, we will have artifacts, photos and equipment on display provided by NECPA members dating back over 100 years in the NECPA museum area.


    SPEAKER BIOS

    Tim Niehaus
    Miami Corporation

    Tim Niehaus is President of the Miami Corporation. In 2014, as a member of the 4th generation family ownership of the company, Tim and his partners made the decision to transition the company to an employee owned business. Tim has his MBA from Xavier University and has served on the board of several non-profit organizations.

    Steve Siener
    The Cooley Group

    Steve Siener is 3rd generation family owner of The Cooley Group. He has 36+ years in the industrial fabrics and single ply roofing industries. In addition he and his family move to Europe to run a Cooley company in the Netherlands. He has also traveled extensively around the world promoting Cooley products and US industrial fabrics. He was recently elected to be a member of the IFAI Advanced Technical Products group.

    Who Should Attend?

    Any professional working in or serving the awning and outdoor fabric industry should attend our annual Awning and Marine Canvas Products Show.  Manufacturers, distributors, fabricators, retailers and service providers all attend our conference and expo to see the latest innovations, gain new insights, and connect with business colleagues both old and new.

     CANCELLATION POLICY

    NECPA Cancellation policy – Attendees and Exhibitors

    Cancellations made before January 4 th will receive a 50% refund to the original debit/credit card used for registration. Notifications should be emailed to president@necpa.org by this date. No refunds of any kind will be given for cancellations made after January 4 th. Cancellations of hotel reservations and/or transportation are the sole responsibility of attendees and/or exhibitors. NECPA is not liable for any charges incurred.
